The kids had their first full day of school today. Timmy and Kayla are in seventh grade and Aaron is in fourth grade. It was the twins’ first full day of middle school. They seemed to have had a good day. This is the first time they had lunch at the middle school. Kayla and Timmy brought their lunches. They have decided to buy lunch at school on the days that something they like is being served. They had lunch with a group of kids, some of whom they knew and some of whom they didn’t. It was all girls and all boys. The twins didn’t sit together. I remember that’s how it was when I was in middle school too.

They found all of their classes okay. Kayla and Timmy are in two of the same classes. The other four are different. They also were able to open their lockers okay. The kids only go to their lockers twice a day, at designated times. The rest of the time they just go from class to class. All of the kids in seventh grade have a planner to write down their assignments.

Aaron had a good first full day. He has several books that he will read this quarter. The kids do a certain amount of reading each day. They read at their own pace. They will do several projects in science class. The teacher sent home a note explaining what they will be doing this year. At this age kids develop at different times. I remember that from when the twins were in fourth grade.

It was very warm today and we went swimming after school. We also read some more Harry Potter.
