Fall Done Fell in Still Listening to Spirit

Even with the occasional sunshine we had today, Fall is definitely in the air and especially in the blowy wind today.
Not a surprise, but a disappointment that all the signs I have been seeing of Fall are not my mistaken perception.
The large red clumps of berries on the Mooseberry trees are full and hanging lower as they grow more weighty. We have no moose here to eat them, our valley is to steep and there are few meadows for the moose to enjoy. The Bohemian Waxwings come through in Late January or early February, flock onto a tree and strip the tree of its berries in half a day. then on to the next one. We have many here.
If the berries fall to the ground before they arrive, those of us who have one in our yard make sure the snow is shoveled/brushed off the berries to the Waxwings have enough fuel to continue on to Washington State and wherever they spend the rest of the winter.
The fireweed, culturally significant as a definite sign fall has come, has bloomed beautifully and then from the top of the plant progressively downward the flowers turn to what we call ‘cotton’ and blow away those seeds.
Leaves are blowing and falling off the deciduous trees, some without turning yellow before they fall. They are giving up the fight to hang on and gathering in blown piles in gutters and against fences, etc.
Yep, signs of fall, incontrovertible and easy to see.
I had a good week last week. Rocky start to this week. I wakened on Monday with no energy, no zip, almost sleepwalked through my morning routine like a robot I was. I went to work and by 10am, Eric had sold maybe 6 seats and I was no help at all, I just couldn’t engage my mind.
Too, due to the slowness (and who knows what else) Kara was a frowning, complaining Debbie Downer. I acknowledged that I was of no use, the day was slow, Eric could handle it and I could save Greg money by just going home.
So I did, and slept off and on the whole day and was in bed and asleep by 10pm. I woke this morning full of pep and energy, happy to greet the day and anxious to get to work. Hurrah, a wee bump in the road.
I have spent several weeks now with a stomach ache between 3pm and when I go to sleep. I do know absolutely that it is psychosomatic because I can on occasion make it go away. I am also thirsty all the time, I drink 2 quarts (yes quarts) of water at work and a whole lot more at home. Yet, I am dehydrated, dry-mouthed, and when I pinch the skin on the back of my hands, it stays peaked long enough that I know this sign of dehydration.
I made a list of our medications to take to Lynne at the Clinic. My antidepressant Lynne sent to Fred Meyer pharmacy did not arrive so I am another week without it. I also investigated their ‘one price’ list of medications and found that we can save a hundred or so dollars on 4 of the medications we take.
I set out a list for Lynne to call these in to Fred Meyer also with dosages indicated so the drugs would fall within the parameters of the program. For instance, Lisinopril 20mg is $4 for a 60 day and $10 for a 120 day supply, or something like that, it is $4 and $10 on the list of drugs that qualify.
Anyway, so I take 20 but Bill takes 40mg. 40mg isn’t on he list, so I indicated
to Lynne to order him the 20’s x 2 a day. I also hope she can switch Bill from the Metropolol ER (easy release?) to plain Metropolol at the same dosage he is receiving. The regular with no release time is $4 and $10, not some other huge amount.
We arrived at the Clinic behind Lynne who was riding her bicycle back from lunch. She stopped to chat with me when I got out of the Jeep to give her the list. She then came around to Bill to chat. Wanted to know how his cough and energy was. Decided after I told her that he did get long term cough relief from my inhaler that she would order him one–then decided on 2. One for immediate relief and one that gives long term relief. She said that any of the inhalers that combined both was way too expensive and this was as good an alternative and very economical.
I tried to get Bill to agree to see the chiropractor who is now coming to town 2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday. Madame has been to him once and she had such marvelous relief of her pains for 3 days, she was over-the-moon happy. I wanted to make Bill an appointment for today, Tuesday, and he declined.
Spirit told me he would be very unhappy he didn’t go today, if only because when he does go the next Tuesday, he will have some immediate if small relief of his back pain.
OH, I was RIGHT....he came upstairs tonight and would only tell me that now his entire body is F**ked up and he would tell me more tomorrow. He also agreed without any further discussion of budget, etc. that he would go to an appointment that I make for him Thursday.
Did I say previously I got a haircut from Donna her first work day back last week. Did I say I love, love, love it? Did I say I keep getting such wonderful comments and compliments on it? Did I say it is shaved halfway up the back and that Bill isn’t fond of the look? Did I say I told him not to look then?
Well, I am saying it now. I feel lightheaded and flirty, just another lift in spirit for me
That’s all, I have run on once again, or rather, my fingers have. Bill sold 2 of his lefthanded guitars to Matt this week. Gave him a killer low price. Matt was happy, so was Bill. None of his equipment be it musical or mechanical owes him a dime, he has used them all to make more money than they cost.
He’s hoping Matt will come back after talking with his gig-mates to buy the Peavey huge speakers and their stands and cords and wires and his control board, maybe even the auto-orchestra if nothing but for rhythm beats—hard to find a drummer in this town..... So, we’ll see on that.
Sold my quilt trailer to Dolly and she is going to drive me bat-shit crazy about it. Wanting to come over to show it to friends, wants Steve, the driver and supreme carpenter/contractor to come over to see if he can ‘fix’ some things. She sees a brown water stain from condensation as a huge issue with the roof, she calls it mildew and is anxious about that. The carpet, of course, needs pulling up and replaced with more carpet or a wood floor.
Anyway, I’ll get through this too. They will pay me for it with their Permanent Fund Dividend checks in October and I can keep using it until Spring.
Okay, stop now, babbling. Blessed be!
