I emailed the TDEC office to ask about how long should it take to get the environmental paperwork back. This dude emailed me who we have seen in person, he came out to our property to inspect the soil to talk about our second septic permit. He said our soil was really nice all over the property. He was professional as hell and is very responsive to emails. He wrote us a really nice email after we saw him in person.
The tone of his email was “I thought we talked about this”..... I dont blame him. We did talk about it. I understood his instructions but I got confused because the survey company made it seem like we had to get signatures of approval on our soil work prior to the planning meeting so we can bring them to the planning meeting. This is not the case. We obtain signatures after the planning committee approves our survey and prior to recording the survey with the county.
We have to get a second soil test done once the survey is finalized on or after Oct. 12th. Law is one test per parcel of land. We are cutting it close because the planning meeting is Nov 14th. That’s another $600. We got the first soil test because our realtor made it a contingency of closing on the land to protect us. But I kind of wish we had waited to do it because we didn’t have the most up to date survey done. Money money money. I’ll be out a good 5k more before I even get my mortgage started. (Eye roll)
