So…

Last Saturday we got in the car and drive about 250 miles south to go and see the people back home that I’ve missed the most. We spent Saturday night in a hotel, and Sunday we packed up a spare lunch and such, and went and met Emma who was my birth partner last time. We went and picked her up and spent the morning with the Monkeys and then had lunch at the local Harvester, followed by a quick cup of tea with her Mum when I dropped her off. It was a nice enough day, but it was definitely the perfect amount of time to spend with her.
Sunday night I packed us back up again and we stayed one more night in the hotel, which Bub found fascinating…all these empty cupboards and drawers to play with. Bub Heaven!!
Monday we drove over the city to go and stay with Lucie. Yes, we went and spent two days chilling in her house whilst Bub played with one of her nephews. A lot her family dropped through to say hi and to meet Bub, which was nice as we’ve been such close friends for so long now.
Wednesday we packed up again and drove across the county to go and stay with my Dad and Stepmum (WSM). Which for those of you who know me, well, it’s been 10 years since me and WSM have had any contact. So I was really rather nervous BUT it went really well. Bub was utterly in love with his Grandad, and in turn his Grandad was absolutely devoted and doting. WSM fell head over heels for Bub too, and I think even my brother was a little taken by him. He spent 2 days in their garden playing football with Grandad and rugyb with his Uncle, whilst me and WSM reconnected as adults. It was nice, and I kind of didn’t want to leave.
Friday lunchtime we reluctantly left Daddy’s and drove back down across 2 counties and went to see my darling Sprouty. My beautiful Godson. For those of you who are new to my diary. Sprouty is my utterly beloved Godson, as with Bub, I would pull the stars out of the sky for him. Sprouty is now 4 and a half, and he has Downs Syndrome and behavioural problems. He also has visual difficulties and had to have open heart surgery to fix a hole, which left him with a keloid scar and his chest plates now overlap. To hear him say “I love you” made the drive there and back completely worthwhile. He cuddled me, he sought comfort from me, kissed me and all the rest of it to the point where even his Mum said that it’s like he just knows exactly who I am, even though I haven’t seen him in 3 years. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him. Even though he does do the worst farts you will ever smell.

Whilst we were there, I told them all that Pidge is expected and everyone was so much more pleased than my Mum was. Once we get the next scan out of the way, I’ll tell my Nan.....if I can keep this bump hidden for another 5 weeks that is…YIKES!!
