for those smarter than I in Hi This is Kat!

Jo went back to the hospital for a recheck… they wanted to do a lot of blood work to check her numbers… and the also wanted to check her potassium… not sure if her potassium is low or high but I know it was way off in the hospital. many reasons that can cause bad numbers and most are not good!
Advanced kidney disease is one....which I have often wondered if she had kidney issues because she used to pee every 15 mins… and they also had her in depends during the hospital stay....oddly advanced kidney disease is a cause of low numbers…
Someone also told me cancer can mess with those numbers but I really do not know much about this but I will try to educated myself as much as I can.
I do know her years of uncontrolled diabetes and cirrhosis topped with heavy drinking caused these issues and when it gets to the point I am afraid it is not a lot of reversal can be done… dialysis at times is the last resource.

She just has so many things working against her right now. Her Diabetes probably is not too bad right now and she had 3 or 4 units of blood so half her blood was low sugar a week ago.
She had an iron infusion so her anemia should be good for at least a month
she had lots and lots of liver meds via her IV
Yes she is still very week and very very tired… fatigued she also said she feels sick to her stomach but not throwing up and still some diarrhea so being dehydrated can also cause those kinds of numbers???

I have not had time to sit down and really talk to Jo about what the doctor said when he released her… She has not talked about what he said and when I ask she simply just does not answer me… so I think it might not be good…and she has to be stronger and ready to talk before she will open up…but she will tell me.

I believe this is Jo’s new life… I think she is at the end and I believe she will stay tired and sick… I believe she will not take her meds just as she has given up on therapy I guess??? this is her third missed week. She tells me at times she wishes she was dead but she would never kill herself because you can’t get to the glory but she might just let herself fade away without trying to hard to live
