A Basque Dinner in Talk Story

Aloha…

Last night I drove down to Crescent City… having been invited to join friends for a Basque dinner…

Two years ago… the same couple that hosted this invited me to a Basque dinner as well…

There were fourteen of us… we sat outside… and from start to finish the dinner lasted four and a half hours (burp)…

Our host prepared all of the food himself (this was not a pot-luck)… appetizers and tapas… three different soups… a lamb stew… salads… beef… chicken… pork… and more lamb…

And for dessert… a flour-less chocolate cake (not sure if that was Basque or not)…

Later in the evening… we gathered around a fire pit… watched the smoke curl up into the night sky… listened to the fire crackle… and enjoyed the fragrance of it all…

At times… my life is pretty darn good…
