Perranporth seems awash of people hoping to enjoy our last long weekend of summer, I wonder if they are enjoying our weather to day with temperatures of 14 to 16 degree C or 57 to 61 F! To go with these lacklustre temperatures we have rain forecast for most of the day, and tomorrow looks much the same with temperatures of 16 to 18 degree C – 61 to 64 degree F; the forecast just now is on the money – the forecasted rain is now falling.
In forty-five minutes we should be of for our regular Sunday Agility Class, we shall wait and see if we get an e-mail, now I’m braking of a moment to get a jumper; when I feel cold it is!
That’s better, well it will be in a moment or three ….
Last night I watched the first episode of the new Doctor Who, the new or regenerated Doctor in the form of Peter Capaldi steered the series passed its half-century in good style, Capaldi is a well-known caricature actor and a fan of Doctor Who since watching the program as a boy. This opener to this series was a feature length story, eighty minutes rather than the usual forty-five minute episode.
‘Deep Breath’ yesterdays Doctor Who story was shown in cinemas around the world, and it set a good standard for the new Doctor, a new doctor is always scripted as finding his way in the new body, this one was troubled by the older face with lines and grey hair, and as the story opened up he had some features of William Hartnell’s first doctor; grumpy and a tend to look on humans as alien!
One review said Peter Capaldi’s was the best Doctor since Tom Baker, something I agree with, in the next episode the doctor will have a second companion, this could mean the stories will continue with two companions; or if the stories in the papers are right Jenna Coleman could be leaving later this year. So there will be much to watch in the coming months, for the stories and the comings and goings; or not!
The was agility for the dogs this morning, with it been a bank holiday Sunday there was plenty of traffic, more going than coming, my Daughter had a short cut of the rout through Newquay; it meant we didn’t use the busy road! It was dry while we were out, after the rain was on and off; not good for those here for a weekend in the sun!
I spent some time tonight watching television, I was joined by a damp Westie on the settee, she was ok while I watch two episodes of ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ from the later part of the long running show, then I watched Dan Snow’s history of the birth of the railways, of course they had to show how things moved on rails before locomotives, horses of course ….
Lola didn’t bark, but she had some low level grumbles as trucks were pulled this way and that by horses, so I made a fuss of her, then just before the adds she rolled on her back to have her tummy rubbed, so she didn’t see the ‘Pet Plan’ add with cats, dogs, rabbits and other animals we like to share our homes with; it’s nice when its quiet …..
