A. Night. in Each Day

Tonight was our weekly craft night, and it kind of started off on the wrong foot. One of the women, let’s call her Lilly, She has such a calm quiet energy and I don’t know why but it makes me feel very protective of her. When I asked how she was she replied, “bad, but you guys make me feel better so I thought I should come anyway”. I thought that was very sweet of her, and if we can make her feel better at all then CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!

Except things almost immediately took a turn for the holyfuckwhat?
As Lilly was standing in line to get her food, someone collapsed in front of her. She managed to catch the mans head before it hit the ground, which is impressive. She started the First Aid process with the man’s daughter (who was on the phone with 911), and then the store announced a code and a whole bunch of employees came running and took over. It was a bit of a shit show, and she was really shaken when she came back to the group. We talked about it (Red and I heard the code, but we weren’t within eyesight of the goings on, but we were worried that it was Lilly who was involved, so I kept trying to look through the crowd to see if she was ok, meanwhile Red texted her and got a quicker answer), and Lilly cried. Understandably.
Despite this, plus several interruptions where we had to tell non-group people that this is a group meeting space that needs to be booked in advanced, it was a decent night. Everyone’s feeling a little ugh because life is weird, but I’m happy we got together. Wednesday nights are second only to Friday and Saturday nights with M.

This last weekend was M’s birthday, and we took a couple days off around the weekend, which was a great way to just exist together. It was lovely. We got caught in a torrential downpour on Friday after driving an hour to a bike park, and experienced a, fortunately non-critical, flash flood in a car scenario. We made it back to the park on Tuesday, I have missed mountain biking like crazy. Other than that, just a lot of weed and some banging and lots of shows and movies while waiting out the rain.
Next weekend is a long weekend, so hopefully it is also a good one.
