8/18/23 in The Beginning

I walked around campus for around an hour. First to escape the heat and then to escape the rain. I walked around aimlessly at the library trying to find something to read. I picked up a collection of Shelley poems yesterday, but nothing today. I started to develop a headache so I’m back in my room alone waiting for this pounding to stop.

My roommates are nice enough, quiet and I don’t see them often but I won’t complain about that. I’d rather have respectful quiet roommates then loud, obnoxious ones. At least with my roommates being quiet, they won’t expect me to come out of my shell or make myself be forced into social situations. Despite being an introvert, I can and do often socialize but I will always prefer my own solitude (or that of very close friends). Classes don’t start up until Monday so I’m really just trying to kill as much time as I can.

I think now I’m going to read Shelley until I fall asleep. Let the world go by my window.
