Lunch in keeping it postive

On facebook, there was an article about a man in San Diego who runs/owns a seafood restaurant. The article described how he had taken in one of the families that had recently crossed the border coming from Guatemala.
This man whose restaurant has at the most five tables, has been vilified in Yelp and in other media. People have given him horrible reviews and threatened his life. All of the negativity that has been written about him is false.
The backlash of all the negativity is that people are searching out his hole in the wall restaurant and business has been better than ever. I am sure this is stressful for him - the notoriety, the threats, etc. He seems to be a good man just doing what he feels is right.
The family he took in - a woman, her three younger kids and finally an older son (who'd been in ICE detention) are doing well. They will soon leave to go to extended family in another part of the country.

That's deplorable. That poor man. No good deed goes unpunished :( I am hoping he can get past it.

Sigh.

I hope his business grows as a result of this.

I am hoping the same. It's a small place, and he also serves various farmers' markets, so hopefully there's an uptick all around.

Very stressful and frightening for him - and the family involved! All I hope is that he does really well out of it and nothing bad happens to them

I admire the fact that he didn't back down. He's gained a lot of support. I was glad to be in San Diego to go to his tiny place. And the food was GREAT.

sadly, it's so easy to be a รง@#t via online anonymity. Great to hear of its backfiring in this case.
