Well… I went to see the Barbie movie.
I was originally torn about it, until the hype reached my peers, and I reconsidered the last 30 odd years of feeling bad for my Barbie loving past. I was a child of the 80’s/90’s. I had the Barbie Magic Voyageur. I was both a girlie girl (I loved dresses, still do) and also a tomboy. They could not stop me from doing cartwheels in my dresses, playing in the creek and catching frogs in my dresses.
I really enjoyed the movie. I loved how unabashedly positive she was in the beginning. I loved how open she was to new information and how she was willing to change her opinion based on new information. It felt like a really good role model for society today. I don’t really want to dissect the movie because I know there are a lot of people much smarter than me doing so already.

There’s a lot of hate for this movie from men. I don’t really get it. I mean, I can understand the bubblegum pink frivolousness is hard to take seriously (so why are men taking this so seriously, seriously?)… Anyway, I just said I don’t want to get into it.

I wanted to write something about the ADHD women’s subreddit, but I’ve run out of time and mental energy to get my thoughts down concisely. Next time, maybe.
