Whats New? in Majimaze Musing!

                  Hello there Readers if I have any left!!

                                                                          I have been gently reminded by Polz that I haven't done an entry for ages!Its just over a month and to be honest,most of the time my life is so mind-numbingly boring that even I would be disinclined to read about it! Ha ha!I have been cutting back to pay my debts to the 

extent that I don't do much apart from my usual stuff, and that ain't very much at all!I am not convinced you would be interested in the minutae of my sparse

adventures. However, just in case, here goes!

                                                                   I am very well, and I hope you are too! My only problem is my feet!Owing to arthritis as a result of a horse accident

30 years ago,I have deformed toes which climb all over each other and it has become very difficult to walk in enclosed shoes.ANY shoes really!I am happiest

barefoot!Because of the deformities, the toes are very vulnerable to rubbing on the uppers of the footwear,and after one horrible ulcer incident a coupe of years

ago, I now strap the toes and take very good care.So, the upshot is that I can never be accused of having 'pretty' feet or 'happy feet'!

I was offered an operation some years ago to insert pins  to straighten them, however, I declined. It is not my style to 'welcome' surgery in any form at all, so

I just do the best I can!The same with a number of discs which have collapsed trapping my sciatic nerve.I am 70 years old and I will cope for as long as I can!And

adapt my life to these problems.I still walk 2kms very day ,early in the morning and late afternoon which is great for me and Taitai, my little dog.AAt the end of

winter as we are now, my feet are sick of being closeted so hurt if I wear,shoes,slippers , whatever!End of complaint!

                                         It is much lighter in the mornings now and I have picked my first freesias, my annual delight as the first harbingers of Spring.And on 

a good day, it is also much warmer!There are ducklings and lambs and a bit of blossom and my feet and I rejoice!!

                                 What have I been doing? Toastmasters,Church, visiting friends and Budgeting, baby-sitting, and enjoying reading, writing the odd poem,

and the semi-rural life we have here.The austerity measures I willingly Instituted to get rid of some worrying debts meant I cancelled newspapers and Sky TV,

which is 'pay as you view'.I now have the free stuff which I have adapted well to.The newspapers I miss a lot,so Polz has been saving saves for me each Sunday and

I devour, and every fortnight I buy a daily with my groceries!

What I NEED to buy,is some new underwear!!Ha ha!Joking aside, I would dread having an accident now because of the state of my underwear!I also NEED to

buy some new cosmetics.Many of you would consider that trvial, however, I have always worn make-up altho as I age I wear far less than I did.I stashed some away

for a rainy day, so am using that now.

                  New shoes are on tha agenda as are some different summer garments.However, by Christmas, I will be clear and have about $200.00 more a

fortnight than I do now!!I live on the pension onlya so $200.00 is very important.

Last night at Toastmasters, I was offered a job.One day a week, however, starting at 6am through to 2pm and cooking!Aaaargh!The cooking I could manage

easily, the 6am start would mean my dog would have to cross his legs til I came home and for 7 hours I would be standing,Also My earnings would be secondary

taxed so would be almost halved.

I have virtually declined politely.Don't get me wrong, I NEED the money and I would love to do it, however, Back, feet, dog, tax, plus having to get a lift in which

would be with a erson I don't know!Mainly, I know I couldn't really cope with being on my feet that long!Even 5 years ago, I could have.So,age has come in and sunk

that opportunity like a stone.I have done kitchen work a number of tmes before in my life and it is quite physically demanding.Common sense must prevail!!

                     I had a very enjoyable day out over in the 'big smoke' with Polz on Sunday.It was all paid for by my dear sister-in-law Joan, so we went over

to the city to see 'the Journey of a Hundred Steps' or some such title!!A lovely movie, and I totally recommend it!Great acting,a stunningly gorgeous cast,(most

of them anyway!) and the most glorious scenery and cinematography I have seen!Just glorious, including the food shots which are that catch phrase, 'food porn!'

                       Costs were very little and we both came home with a bit of extra $$$$!Very handy!My feet got very sore but what the heck!Great movie,

great weather, and terrific company!Thank you Joan for making it possible and thanks dear Polz for the fantastic company!I enjoyed myself immensely.

Election time: Politically things here are on the downhill slide!Ugh! I don't agree with our present Govt at all so will vote for the Opposition which is

more socially responsible.It is also the Party I have virtually always voted for.Even tho we have a MMP voting system, I am not keen on the multi-party concept.

The down-hill slide I reffered to is the 'dirty politics' of email stealing,vicious bloggers and the furore as a result of a tell all book just published.I am definitely older

now as my tolerance of sneaks and tattle-tales and smutty nasty revelations is now very low!I will vote because I always have and because I crave a diiferent Govt.

6.It is nearly the end of Winter!!Praise Be!

7.That Israel and Hammas are having promising peace talks and the latest ceasefire is still holding!

                           So, is that enough from me for the moment?

I think so!
