7/4/2023 in The Beginning

The Fourth is a weird holiday for me. I’m grateful for our independence and how relatively safe I am living here. However, I can’t help but think about the destruction and lives destroyed by our country wanting to spread its influence onto others unwillingly. Countless of innocent people killed, families wiped out and villages destroyed in the name of “Democracy”.
Even here, millions live out in the streets addicted to countless substances, waiting to die. Our government spits on them and stomps their foot down and crushes them like bugs.
All men are created equal only implies to those below the poverty line, who struggle day to day, hoping that tomorrow brings a better fortune. I wish our government could truly see everyone as equal, and truly care about all 331 million of Americans who live here.
I’m hoping one day we can find peace within the world, but for now I’ll just hope we all find a little peace within ourselves.
