When I was hired at the Fd I was put on the fast track there and in no time I was to the point to where I kinda done what I wanted ( To an extent). I had a very successful career there. But the best thing I ever done was save a guy's life. This guy was dead..... No pulse or anything, I performed CPR on him and kept pumping his chest. I worked him for so long that the Paramedic was about to declare him dead. I kept on and told them to wait and the medic said that there wasn't a pulse and that there wasn't a point to push drugs into him. At this point I was still determined to keep on. I wanted to do everything that I could to give this guy a chance. When I done my last cycle of CPR I felt for a pulse...... And bam!!!! I had a slight one, once I said that I had a pulse everyone went into a frenzy and started pushing drugs and then we rolled him to the hospital. Due to HIPPA laws we usually don't know the outcome of the patient. About a year later after I moved to Montana I got a call from my Assistant Chief and he brought up this call that I ran asking if I remembered it. He then told me that the guy I saved was alive and that there was a ceremony for me if I could make it. When I went to Sc for this ceremony I ended up with all kinds of awards, but what mattered the most was that the guy I saved was there and I had a long conversation with him. I was so impressed that one of God's miracles was standing in front of me and that God worked it through my hands. The guy took my address and mail me a card. Not going to lie it brought tears to my eyes.
I honestly can't say how honored I am for God to have chosen me to do his work. Ever since I join the Fire service and every cal I went on I would always say a quick prayer to watch over us and for God to do his work through my hands. Its just amazing that he used me in that moment.
