A trip into Truro today, the last two trips there were accidents at the Chiverton roundabout, the first was on the island, the second just off the island on the A30 east, I haven’t seen any reports so I hope that means no one was badly injured. On those times having the Police about the traffic wasn’t going round the island so fast, today every thing was ok except the cars coming of the A 30 were going round at the usual at there usual speed; a speed that makes getting on the island difficult!

When I got to the island I was stood there watching cars speed pass, even an Audi next to me was waiting for an opening, standing there two minutes seems a long time, but a gap opened and we got out safely. At home the morning was quite cold, I was taking a chance with my vest – a jacket with out sleeves, as usually it felt warmer at the at the ‘park and ride’ car park, and Truro down in its hollow was even warmer. I had a few things to do, making my way to M&S at twelve for a light lunch, Truro seemed reasonable quiet but no so in M&S’s café. I managed to get a table near the wendow, there were a couple were sat at the table by the window were people watching, I had a view of a blue sky and the white and grey clouds.

The light lunch was a bacon bap and a bottle of still mineral water, at the cutely stand I added ice and two slices of lemon. I had got there at the right time, as I left the queues were much longer. I hadn’t timed my arrival at the food hall, I got round ok and found all I wanted at went to the queues to pay, the basket only queue was much the longer so I joined a line of three elder ladies, their baskets were lightly loaded like mine, I commentated about the lengths of the queues to the lady in front of me, there was no response’s, she seemed distracted and could have been heard of hearing.

The women at the front was much the younger, she was chatting away to the lady at the till, that always add to the time, the other two ladies would be in there seventies, from the content of their baskets I would think they were alone. As I thought there were quicker than the other lines with the full trolleys. The second lady couldn’t hear the lady at the till asking for her basket so she could pack her purchases, the lady in front of me was going through several debit cards and rearranging het stuff on the belt; it can’t be fun being old and shopping for one!

Out in Lemon Quay they were having games, as I passed there was a egg-race in progress, further on there was a climbing frame but no climbers, at the other end of the Quay people were more relaxed, on one side people were eating out side; the other side they were happy to sit out with a liquid lunch. I set of looking for wrapping paper for an imminent birthday and a card for a birthday next month in Texas, the next two months we have a few birthdays to mark with cards and gifts. By two pm I was ready from a bus out of the city, as I approached the square where the Park & Ride bus stops it was just stopping, I can’t say I ran but I think I managed an animated walk; arriving just as the penultimate person was getting on the bus …..
