is change your name
to be a pop star
or a rock star
or a rap star

all you gotta do
is paint your face like someone else
hide the fact you were born super rich
or claim you found Jesus on an LSD trip
or hide how you did Christian ska first
and buy up all your old school yearbooks
then destroy them in one firey burst and
never let them know you’d been a cop
before your gangster life treatise

all you gotta do
is pretend you’re someone else
perfect to the day and blameless
all you gotta do
is erase yourself
if you wanna be
famous
