Work, Day Two in Still Listening to Spirit

Last evening I called Greg to find out how much he is paying me. He was in bed asleep at 8pm but still had his phone near him and answered. I told him "Go back to sleep." and he said "Okay" and hung up.

I called Madame to ask her to talk with Greg about this. She said she thought they would pay me the same per hour as last year, I told her to check her records to see what that amount was. Then we proceeded to have a chat for 35 minutes.

When I saw Greg this morning, I did ask him. He was less than forthcoming, saying that it might have to be less now because I am not doing 'everything' I did last year. I was a bit taken aback but told him I trusted that he would treat me more than fairly.

Hmmm, as I think he is mis-remembering...last year Madame took over the bookkeeping. I was doing pre-books, dispatch and sales in the shop, and I was doing the bookkeeping for tour billing for tours that are not ours.

That is what I am doing now. So, I may have to point that out to him, maybe not. We'll see.

Anyway, despite the over 10,000 passengers off the cruise ships today, it was still slow at 9am when I arrived. Greg and I somehow got on the subject of naps, and he told me how exhausted he is. I told him to go home, Eric and I have got this.

About 20 minutes later, he decided to go home and rest until he went back to the Park Service job at 1pm. Good.

It was hectic and sometimes confusing. I am enhancing some things so I can better see/spot what I need more quickly. Eric and I both did well with sales, the tour brokers sold Dolly's tour today. It does sell by them on the days short tours for other venues sell out.

Enough retail to fill in the gaps. Marvelous conversations with many. Things ran smoothly until I left. Eric had to go 'rescue' a broke down bus and used another tour company to pick up passengers and take them back to town.

All in all, a hectic, semi-confusing day. Most of my glitches now are just getting back into the rhythm, radio, telephone, face-to-face conversations, switching gears quickly between one thing and another.

I am energized in the morning and ready for a nap about an hour after I get home.

Blessed be!
