Road trip? in A small but passable life.

Last night I received an email from my sis-in-law. I guess Mom had changed plans for the third time and has decided to come over for a visit. Tonight was my oldest niece's wedding in Amarillo. And tomorrow my little brother is supposed to pick me up at 7:30am to head to Oklahoma City to pick Mom up and bring her back here.
I've spent all afternoon trying to convince Jassy to go in my stead. She has the next two days off anyway and since I threw out my back a week or so ago I don't know if I can sit in a car all day. She'll let me know when she fetches me from the van tomorrow at 6am.
Jassy woke me up this morning at 5am for coffee. She needed the van to go to work by 5:30am. Clayton woke up at 8am and had to be to work by 9am. I spent the morning reading. I did the dishes.
Jassy was home at 2pm. We spent the afternoon together. I read. She played some on her guitar for me. Outstanding.
She repaired that umbrella I had found in the restroom at Hardee's years ago. So when I pushed the button to open it Liam the dog freaked out. He has this thing about umbrellas. He jumped up into Jassy's lap and peed all over her. He then proceeded to pee all the way across the living room carpet. And I swear it really had nothing to do with the leftover peas with lots of pea juice I'd given him earlier when I was digging leftovers out of the frig. Really.
The van is still running great. I haven't driven it since I drove it from where I'd been parked to the apartment back at the beginning of June. I have no reason to drive anywhere. I do occasionally accompany Jassy on errands though.
It took two separate visits to Safelite Auto glass to get the window replaced. The first time was ninety minutes to replace it. After waiting the requisite 24 hours, which we stretched to 48 to be sure, we hit the power window button and nothing happened. The second trip required two hours for them to replace the glass again. This time they got it right.
The passenger window doesn't work but it's been like that for years. And the A/C isn't working so it is a pretty hot ride. Some day we'll have everything fixed.
Jassy did come home from work today with a new air freshener for the van. I asked her if that was a snide comment. She said no it wasn't, that the van doesn't smell like it did last winter, now that I open the windows every night. I told her it was probably from the wet socks from when I got caught in the rain a couple of nights ago. Or the T-shirt that I've been sleeping in every night for a few months. (It keeps my daytime T-shirt cleaner.)
Our next big project is to take it to the car wash. Jassy thinks I should wait until my back is better before I attempt to climb up on the roof of the van to scrub it. We'll see.
Anyway, things are moving along and dragging me with it.
