I had the most amazing Door dash delivery today.... but first.... background and the first losers..

I have been delivering for door dash as my primary income for nearly a year (starting mid-June last year). I have delivered over 3000.... (gets technical) 3198.... I have an acceptance rate of 47%, a 99% completion rate, and 96% on time or early. My average customer rating is a delightful 4.96. I know what I’m doing, I pay attention to instructions. I have been known to call the customer when a restaurant is out of something or ask for a sauce that they apparently couldn’t put in their order....... I’d say I’m pretty good at this…

The best deliveries I have made.... #3 Early morning picked up from McDonald’s going to a hotel an exit North on the interstate .... far too early for morning traffic.... like 3:30 am ish..... I get a call and I can only assume it’s the customer.... who else would call that early (not even telemarketers). The guy was drunk, telling me he and his friends were chillin’ and they are all drunk and needed something to pack a blunt with. If I could just stop by the gas station and get him xx he’d pay me back. “Yeah, sure.” I wasn’t doing anything … just his order… Probably be the only one for hours so why not. .... Get what he needs and proceed to a hotel. The room had loud music playing and I knocked… a couple of times.... when I hear a knock on the end door. I was pretty sure they had locked themselves out but I had a job to do .... I held up my finger I’d help them after these peeps got their stuff. They came in turns out they were the drunk peeps lol .... One of the three went into the room and brought me a $20 and “that was all she had” so.... $20 for spending a few extra moments and $1.64..... and an earned story.... nice…

2.... Kinda early on a day when my goal was $75…I’d say I was about 30 in really. I was taking an order that had a decent tip on it.... it was a leave-at-door order so yay! Took my picture and the door opened. Nice 30-something black lady comes to the door, in business attire, for sure was working at home. Öh! let me get you a tip.” I said, “Mam you already tipped.” but she had run off in a hurry She came back and palmed me a bill..... I waited till I got in my car to look. was a crisp $100!!.... I quit early, and was thankful :)

What could top a $100 tip?

1 This morning I went out because I was up.... I’ve made goal for the week and really couldn’t move on in my day till Rocky went to work anyway. So, I went “to work” with small goal of $50 just to have a little more cash for the trip I’m about to take. It was a bit slow and when 10.50 for 12.9 miles came up I debated and ultimately took it because I’m not happy with my acceptance rate currently. .... For Lyle S.... that’s an odd name … and initial combo that is familiar.... of no importance just am odd coincidence .... So I look up where I’m going… wait… Rooms To Go Warehouse? … HUH.... William works there.... and his first name is Lyle.... last starts with an S..... k.... too much. I messaged William and OMG!!! Somehow.... That’s no even the closest Taco Bell.... and I rarely take anything that’s not $1 a mile. He meant to order from a much closer Taco Bell and didn’t realize that it doesn’t automatically adjust to the nearest one. I delivered Taco Bell to William! and we sat during his “lunch break” and caught up. I accidentally got booted from my shift because I wasn’t paying attention to the time. We spent a good hour talking. Nicole is about (within a month) to have “her last” baby lol.... wait wasn’t that Maverick? .... whatever.... Had him recite the names for 10 kids… and he forgot Maverick’s name momentarily.... I just about fell out of my chair laughing..... baby 11 doesn’t have a name yet.....

He thinks I”m not going to come back from my trip this time. That from the 17th to the 3rd is too long.... and I need to text him while I”m up there so he can be sure Jake didn’t murder me..... HEY just because you don’t know him doesn’t mean I don’t… lol he’d be much more likely to tie me up for sexual pleasures than to actually hurt me in any way… That didn’t help lol in neither case will I be able to text William lmao. It was the most wonderful random thing to happen EVER!
