On Wednesday I got a call saying that something with Lorelei's newborn screening came back abnormal. There was a level that came back elevated that could mean she had cystic fibrosis. We made an appointment for today and we went to it. She did great, and we got the results back: no cystic fibrosis! Thank goodness. I was worried sick. She might be a carrier, and she will need to get genetic testing with her partner if she ever decides to have kids.

So that's a big relief!

The next headache is getting my sister enrolled in school. She still lives with us, if I haven't mentioned that in awhile. She is quiet and stays in her room a lot, so it's like she isn't here half the time. She's a teenager and that's just what they do, after all. I had to jump through a bunch of hoops so far to prove residency and that we have the right to house her for educational purposes. I lost her birth certificate, but I got that in the mail today. Now I am just waiting on her old school to send transcripts. The homeschooling thing wasn't really working for her. She is really excited to start at this school. It's a great district and there are a lot of choices as far as electives and stuff go, so I'm pretty happy.

Jacob had to go back to work on Wednesday. My first day alone with the kids was successful but the nighttime was a disaster. Cannon went to bed at 10 but woke up screaming multiple times during the night, and Lorelei screamed for an hour or two before finally falling asleep herself. The same thing happened the next night. Our nights haven't been too great. Lorelei has also been pretty fussy during the day when she isn't asleep. She has been spitting up A TON. I mean like full clothing changes for both of us, and the couch or whatever surface we were sitting on. I'm pretty sure she has reflux. I'm cutting out diary out of my diet to see if it helps (goodbye, earl grey tea lattes), and I we got some medication for her to help with the discomfort. We just have to wait it out, and I guess do more laundry.

I have been trying to entertain Cannon and keep him happy but he acts out a lot when Jacob gets home, for some reason. I think he really likes having Jacob's attention. Jacob has only been getting like 3 hours of sleep every night, so he is pretty tired. :( He insists on putting Cannon to bed. He says that Cannon doesn't go to sleep for me. I just wish he would freakin' go to bed and get some sleep.

I've been getting terrible headaches and I've had a lot of stomach issues lately. I should see a doctor. And I need to reschedule my dentist appointment. ugh.

So that's life.
