I shouldn't have jumped on the scales today. Turns out my sickness got me worse than I thought. 81.7kg. That's down from my 87.2kg that was my peak. Man. I'm pretty dejected. That's going to be so hard to get back.
There's pros and cons I guess. The less weight I am, the more my abs show haha, but six fucking kilos is a hefty chunk of weight that has just disappeared somewhere.
I'm back to eating fairly well. As in, proper meals and stuff instead of nothing but soup during that horrible week and a half. My cough has finally fucked off (thank fuck!) and I'm doing okay.
The thing I need to try and improve on is my sleep. Having worked nights for so many years, and given the current work hours I do, it's not easy. I tend to finish at either midnight or 1am and I can't just go home and sleep. In fact, I tend to gym after work (and I'm very glad to be able to do that again) which is hardly a good way to wind myself down. I should probably go back to working out BEFORE work and fight the crowds, plus I wouldn't have to complain about the guy who has made himself at home and is sleeping there every night. He wasn't there last night though. Maybe he had a day off.
I had intended to wake up and go down to the park to read one of my books I bought. I even set myself up for it by prepacking my bag with headphones and a towel and sunscreen etc.
Then this morning... errm afternoon... I wake up and have breakfast, feed the fish, look up at the sky and see it's overcast, and talk myself out of it because there's only a max of three hours sunlight left anyway and it's probably going to rain.
Ergh. How annoying.
I'm going to attempt it again tomorrow. It's still early enough to get a decent night's sleep, and work has actually left me alone tonight, so that's nice. I did a ten-hour shift yesterday, covering for Rhys as he had other stuff to get done. I was happy to. He actually rang the store on Saturday night when I was at work, and no-one ever calls me at work, so I was like 'Who is it?' when my manager told me I had a phone call.
Speaking of phone calls, I just had one from James and Vish. They are on their way to the gym and asked me if I want to join them. I'm so tired right now, but I'll go anyway. Could be fun.
Edit: It's much later in the night, and the gym was okay. It was nice to be there with some friends who all go to the same gym, so it was something a bit different. I gave them a few tips that I remembered from my course. Afterwards we went back to the couple's place and chatted about random stuff, as we do. Rick gave me a lift home, which was nice of him, even though I'm like 5 minutes walk.
I decided to hop on the scales again. I dunno why. I pulled the scales out from the window wall again in the vain hope that I had been too close to the wall earlier on and not gotten a correct reading. I was sure I was stepping on it properly with my full weight however. I mean, how else are you meant to stand on a set of scales.
So anyway, I stepped on it again, and it came up with 85.4kg.
HOLY SHIT. My downer from earlier is now okay again! Where the hell did those 3.6 kilos come from in the last few hours?? Either way, damn that makes me happy again! Don't scare me like that scales!
