Stroke in Tales of Transhumanism

My girlfriend's mother has had, it is currently suspected, a stroke. We're not sure yet, my girlfriend just rang me to say that her ma's having symptoms of a stroke, and the doctor has been called out. G is on her way to see her, and there's nothing I can do but wait for a phone call to see how it's looking.

I'm not the same person I used to be. Such things never affected me... I was always aware that these were bad things happening, but they were happening to other people, and as such meant very little to me. I don't mean to sound callous, but that's the way it was. But now, I 'm really fuckin' scared. She's a bloody old woman but she's a nice bloody old woman. She's always got a smile on her face. I really hope she's all right.
