Sunday...cross posting in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Yard along the road looks like Fall is here. Leaves have covered most of the area and I should mulch the leaves. My hesitation is stemmed from how fast and how many leaves are falling. It would be covered again in just a few hours. Ah well, I will see how it progresses and may do it this afternoon anyway. Moved the pepper plant on the side of the house to a new location in hopes that it will start growing a little faster. It is pretty rocky ground, doesn't get a lot of sun, and I forget to water it as often as the other plants. We shall see in time. The green pepper plant that it at the far end of my front porch has grown and looks healthy and getting tall. It just hasn't produced any blooms yet.

Took dad to the pain doctor on Wednesday. He has LOTS of arthritis in his back. The xrays and MRI confirm it is cloudy white pretty much all over the back area. His only choice for pain reduction for his back and leg pain is a wire inserted in his back along the spine I believe which will generate electrodes that will route the pain message away from the brain. He isn't sure he wants to do this since it is placed so close or in the spine. We will watch the DVD that the pain specialist sent home with us to watch and think, hope, pray that it will help explain the procedure to him and me too.

He has another appointment on the 14th of August. I'm so stupid thinking that someone else could take turns with me taking him to his appts. Duh!

I have a harvested cucumbers and a couple of tomatoes. Think the tomatoes will all get ripe about the same time. blah.

Had Owen last weekend on Saturday and the other 3 Friday night and yesterday. Went good but had to lay down the law on the two girls when the fighting began. The main problem is I thought they were going to break the other recliner/rocker. Not if I can help it. Even got the fly swatter out and made sure they both understood that their fighting was not acceptable nor tolerated at grandmas. It was hard for them but they tried hard, at least in front of me. ;)

I am sure I was going to write more stuff when I started but I've stopped and went outside to transplant the seed marigolds which are very tall but not bloomed yet. Hopefully they will bloom now. Also doing more laundry. blech. Lots more laundry to do after the grands stay overnight but not complaining and very thankful for my washer and dryer!

Must leave for church now. I've missed too many Sundays and must give it another chance. Pray that the pastor and my mindset are better this morning. I really am not doing well at hearing "when I" stories about his childhood, other church he was a pastor for nor other things that the scriptures just don't touch. Love him, but I'm not feeling "fed".

Take care and God Bless

Back from church and I heard rumblings of thunder. We so badly need rain here. It has rained south and east of us, but not locally. Since I found a seed tick on me this morning, I got the tick killer granules spread in anticipation of much needed rain. It sprinkled. It may still rain later, but I have the sprinklers on to dissolve and activate the granules. Also been told that will move the moles out too. Hate to use the granules but hate seed ticks even more.

Pray for my pastor. He is having a really hard time with his nephew's death. I have this overwhelming urge to "preach" to HIM and explain that God doesn't cause bad things to happen to people, He just doesn't always stop things from happening. I wish the pastor would use the scripture to find comfort in this horrible loss, but I haven't been in his shoes either. The nephew was shot and killed by a deputy after the nephew called 911 after suspecting some intruders on his land. I'm sure there is more to the story but so far haven't read or heard anything as it is under investigation.
