Dust - and wet! in blackpropaganda

Last Thursday/Friday we had the windows replaced in the front of the house. Some of the double glazing units had deteriorated - and it was a good time to change to colour of the PVC frames from white to oak. They certainly blend in well with the brickwork to make it look more cottagy - the downside is the dust.
We did clear some stuff, and covered somethings over - but it just gets everywhere - and so we are taking the opportunity to do some cleaning and clearing out - well, I am supposed to dust my cooks and see what can go - so far how many have I got rid of? None. I must make a token cull, but these are my friends collected over years, mainly secondhand (or is that now 'previously loved') to start with and in some cases having some value.
So today will be another cleaning day.
As for the rain! It hit the north and west of the UK yesterday - a big depression - rain and wind - and we just hope the sun comes out today to dry everything up. It certainly affected the Games in Glasgow which finish today - stair rod rain as the athletes ran and jumped - but there was some exciting stuff. It is a bit much though when the winners who are not from the UK are virtually ignored while they go on about the gallant English lady who came third - or fourth, or fifth. In the afternoon we watched some boxing and there was success for Northern Ireland and Scotland - what was interesting was how many of the boxers had Irish names even though they came from other countries - it this a cultural thing?????
Anyway - off to get my cleaning stuff - a woman's work is never done
