Your perfect sleeping environment.

I like the room to be completely dark and quiet. Most of the time I wear a sleeping mask. I like a cool room, I rarely sleep with a blanket, usually just a sheet.

Your favorite sandwich.

This is a tough one because I LOVE sandwiches. But I think I will have to go with an old classic, the BLT. Crisp bacon, fresh iceberg lettuce and tomatoes, mayonnaise, a little salt and lots of pepper. On toasted wheat bread.

Your favorite outdoor activity.

Picnics lol. Anytime I can be by the water or in a boat.

Your perfect vacation.

Well my favorite vacation spot is a place called Deep Creek Lake. It's in Western Maryland, about 3 and 1/2 hours from D.C.. My family has vacationed there since I was a small child. My oldest sister lived there for several years when she was first married. Her in-laws owned a dairy farm, a horse barn and a big old farmhouse. Sidenote: I have a funny story about this farmhouse I will tell in another entry. Anyway, they have a beautiful lake there and a very popular ski resort for winter sports. There's fishing, swimming, boating, beautiful state parks, great restaurants, beautiful mountains and tons of rental places from hotel/motels to cottages, camping and private homes. All this and still miles of unspoiled countryside. We used to try to go up in August when they had their fair. A true county fair with animals, homemade treats and crafts and of course rides. Wow, can you tell I love this place? I really hope to go back soon even if only for the weekend.

Your ideal way to relax.

Reading a good book, napping or binge watching Netflix.

Your dream car.

10 or 20 years ago, I probably would have picked some hot looking, sporty little number. But now, I would go for comfort. Something roomy and luxurious with heated leather seats, all the fancy bells and whistles, probably in a pretty blue color. A Cadillac CTS would be nice!

Your favorite scent.

Perfume wise, either CHARLIE (the original blue) or HAPPY by Clinique. Other favorites include my grandchildren after their baths, lemon, white linen candles, sheets dried in the sun and men just out of the shower :)

Your favorite TV show

Currently I am obsessed with "American Ninja Warrior" Historically it's been "COPS". I also love "Parenthood", "Switched at Birth" and "Mad Men".

Your dream job.

I have a history with substance abuse, both alcohol and drugs. I have been clean for 14 years. I would love to work as a substance abuse counselor, helping others struggling with addiction.

Your favorite outfit.

I always go for comfort. At home, where I am most of the time, I always go for sweat pants or shorts and sleeveless tees or night shirts. Sexy, no? Being overweight, I've always leaned towards black or dark blue clothing.

Your perfect Saturday night.

Since my partying days are long gone, I prefer quieter times, spent with family and friends. Maybe dinner out with one of my friends, good conversation, good food and always lots of laughter. Then coming home and playing with my grandchildren would be a perfect night for me. Oh my how times have changed lol.

Your wish for the future.

For myself, I wish for better health so I can have a better quality of life. I wish for the courage and determination to do things to better myself. I want to continue to strengthen my faith and spiritual growth. I want to spend as much time as I can with my family. As for all the rest, this simple prayer pretty much sums it up: The Serenity Prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.

For my family, I wish long lives, filled with love and happiness and just enough hardships to appreciate the good things.
