I took a walk this morning and about 600 am the sun was starting to break over the horizon. The path I took wound around the Barn at the Highlands Ranch historic Park.

This is a working ranch. Mostly people board their horses here. Every once in a while there are cattle as well.

I didn't walk up to the "Mansion" which is behind the Barn area. This area there were several ranches in the area, before this community got started in the mid 80's There was Highland Ranch, Veneford Ranch, Cheese Ranch, and Dad Clark ( who raised sheep and goats). The elevation here is around 5850 ft. This is Northern Douglas County, Colorado

The Mansion is that, a Mansion. It once belonged to the Phipps family and the last owner, was Marvin Davis the Billionaire. It now serves as a venue for private parties and weddings. The also have a Murder Mystery dinner several times a year.
