At seven this morning, not that I was really up and about then, I looked out at the view before I retuned to my bed, but there wasn’t much of a view to look at! I could see just beyond the trees growing both sides of our lane, the other side of the valley was lost in the morning mist, just sixty or seventy minutes latter I was walking Ziggy across the patio, we were beneath a clear blue sky and a sun that already very warm; I think we are in for our warmest day of the year.
The forecaster yesterday was talking about 25 degree’s C, and commented that could be a conservative forecast, so there is no dog walking today, but it will be a day of whirring fans; Ziggy likes a fan in both senses – Lola is ok with a fan who makes a fuss rather than having her fur blown about …..
I took yesterdays forecast for the eastern side of the country, as they have most of the hot weather and the thunder and lighting storms, but here it is and I’m felling warm already, so I offer my sympathy to those where the temperatures go silly and I would melt. I did a search on Google Images after the thunder storms that effected all of southern England last week, I heard that Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower was struck three times by lighting.
Despite using Portsmouth, resent thunder, UK and Spinnaker in the search, I was shown lighting all over the country, but nothing for the Spinnaker Tower, and as I went deeper into the page things got stranger, Brookline Bridge and the two lost towers were shown, then the statue of Christ in Brazil, then the Eifel Tower in Paris; one thing I’m certain off the French would have noticed if we had purloined their gift from America. And the Brookline Bridge would look out off place in London, it is often said that Americans are not good at other counties, after all they have a Shrewsbury over there and a Paris in Texas; but I doubt there is a similar tower there!
Shrewsbury Massachusetts, wasn’t that a film ….
