12:30 AM in Hello

I’m beat tonight. We were out of the house for close to five hours this afternoon. Hit up some stores at the Jones Valley shopping center. Then went to the AMC theater in back of the center and saw Renfield. I laughed my ass off at that flick.

First, it’s got my celeb crush Awkwafina (don’t ask, I think she’s funny and adorable) in it

Second, Nic Cage hamming it up as Dracula was fucking brilliant.

Third, over the top gore and violence. Reminded me of the first Kingsman movie, specifically the church scene.

I will say I still hate theater seats. Made my bony ass hurt and the pain crept into my lower back. Gah! On the heating pad currently.

Made Scariyaki Surprise tonight. Flavored with doberman, tabby and parakeet. That’s what you get at the one Chinese restaurant in a small town.

Kidding, of course.

Teriyaki pork with fresh mushrooms and zucchini. I’ve been experimenting some with oven roasting veggies and olive oil. Mom always gets canola oil but as I’m getting even better at cooking I’m branching out. I already have this entire weekend’s menu planned. And like Hannibal Smith, I love it when a plan comes together. Seriously, made roasted asparagus with grilled steak the other night and it was so good!

Finished The Shepard’s Crown by Terry Pratchett. It was bittersweet. The very last Discworld book and his last novel altogether before succumbing to Alzheimer’s. R.I.P. my good sir. You gave many an amazing journey.

Tomorrow is going to be another long day. Mom has a lab-work-thingy to do, pay off another bill or two and do whatever else comes to us. Think I’ll shut my lamp off and try to sleep…after one more cigarette.
