We are interviewing a potential new housemate on Tuesday afternoon. An English guy. I organised with my current housemate when he'd be home, so Tuesday it is.

Today I get a message from my landlord saying there is also a guy named Tim who'd like to look at the room. I didn't think anything of it. Cool.

A few hours later, something suddenly clicked. I had a revelation.
For some reason, the past two nights, a guy I know (named Tim) has been trying to call me. I just assumed it was a mistake and he didn't mean to, as he NEVER calls me, or even messages me for that matter. So, clearly, the revelation I had is that this Tim guy who I know IS the Tim who wants to look at the room.

I'm near sure I'm right. It would make sense, and it is a small (gay world). My landlord only ever allows young gay guys to live here (which makes me stunned that I'M still here in my 30's now haha). Tim would fit that mould. Although, I wouldn't have thought Tim would be the TYPE of young gay guy my landlord would want living here. He tends to let out to guys he himself would go for physically. Not always, but in my experience of knowing him, he generally would. Maybe he's trying new things. I dunno.

So now that I know this, of course I should get back to Tim and let him come see the room. Naturally, my current housemate would have to approve of him.

I know Tim because we first met on Grindr, but it was nothing sexual. I have a feeling he wanted it to be, but he was never my type. I did go to the movies with him once, but that was the only occasion we ever hung out. So now I feel a little bit strange if he was to be my housemate. I know it's stupid. Had we done stuff, I would probably feel extremely awkward, but maybe he could even be a good housemate.

At the end of the day, my landlord wants someone in here, as it means more money for him. It also means our electric bill won't be as nasty, as it will be between three instead of two. Luckily that's only every three months, but the last one was over $500! That's insane. That means $2000 a year if they keep going like that. I don't expect the next one to be much cheaper, what with how sick I've been and me constantly having the heater on to keep myself from dying and all. I had the air conditioner on once, but it happens to vent n both mine and my housemate's room, so if I want it on, he'll feel it also, so I tend to just use the little heater Vish gave me to heat my room up. Not sure which would be worse on electricty. I think it's also because my housemate and I are always up at late hours of the night, so we'd both use the lights and TV's a lot. Still shouldn't explain why the damn bill was so high. Maybe the previous housemate was using the aircon a lot. A bit of it was taken out of his bond, so the bill wasn't too bad for me, and my landlord owed me a bit of money for some stuff around the house, including updating the gumtree ad for the house twice.

So we're meeting the English guy on Tuesday, but I haven't organised a time for Tim to come over. Maybe the English guy will be cool, maybe he won't. Maybe Tim will expect he has an upper-hand given that he knows me. I can't believe it didn't even click that the phone calls were him trying to contact me about the room, but then again I didn't even know he was looking until I read the message from my landlord this morning.

I guess we'll see how this pans out, and I'll see what my housemate thinks. He's the one who'll have to share his bathroom with whomever moves in.
