I took this picture this afternoon with my camera!
Wow. All consuming adventures in technology. But I am pretty much fully operational again. I had to bring back some things I offloaded to my work computer, cellphone and iPad mini onto the loaner Mac Mini with the brand new super clear 22 inch High Def monitor.
Most Honorable was able to find some software that restored almost all my files for a reasonable sum. He just installed the new hard drive into my MacBook Pro and copied all the old files on it. So I will get it back sometime in the next few weeks.
He was going to get the Mini ready to go up to Seattle anyway this summer and this all just accelerated the process.
We had fun this morning. He came to our large vibrant farmers market with me just after the opening bell. We were on a quest for honey and tomatoes and ended up with those, French pastries, a loaf of fresh bread, yet more cherries and he had a handmade Northern Sausage with cardamom, white wine and something else yummy for an irresistibly early lunch.
And then we got to work. My home office/bedroom looks like a hacker lives in here. Three keyboards and my dual monitors for work, the new loaner monitor and the mini iPad. Not to mention speakers and mice and card readers and docking stations and...
Kes arrived in Seattle on the train without incident and says my oldest sister has made a remarkable recovery in the last month. She is starting to finally enjoy quality of life again. A different life but one she is engaged in. She is reading a lot. She really doesn't want to have any more chemo but is open to considering the possibility if she can return to this level of living again.
My hope is that she won't need it for a time. Cancer sucks rocks.
I had three new caregivers in my class on Tuesday and they were all wonderful interesting bright exhausted parents.
I am very much enjoying my full weekend. I love teaching but this break is a godsend.
