A Break in the Action in Everyday Ramblings

I know this is a little dark but it was the best I could do with the iPad camera up at the lookout point near The Chart House on my 8K loop on Terwilliger Boulevard yesterday evening. I've taken pictures of this balanced rock sculpture before but like my other 8,000 photos they are not accessible right now.

The adventures in technology continue. I now have this marvelous little bluetooth keyboard for my iPad mini. I will be using it this weekend as we set up Most Honorable's older Mac Mini desktop here for the transition period between now and when we have a pretty decent amount of recovery and the new hard drive purchased for my MacBook Pro installed next week. Or when I save enough to buy a new laptop, either an Air or another Pro.

The Mac Mini with it's brand new large monitor is then going up to Seattle to live in my oldest sister's bedroom. We are a family that shares technology. :)

My sister is getting better. I received a remarkably normal email yesterday from her about something she is passionate about, using the history of a building to tell a story about the local history of a people. This was about our courthouse here in Portland, the one smack in the center of downtown that has been restored. It is not big or imposing but it has a rich history.

There is a pretty good chance we will be able to recover most of my photos.

I have a couple hundred of the most important ones (including the ones of Mr. Finch) saved on the cloud but none of Stella so that will be nice. I do have actual prints, remember those? of Stella as a kitten but not the just hanging around being her sweet neurotic self pictures.

I heard about some technology that is being developed right now called "Light Field". It is something that will be used for virtual reality and gaming and military applications but also, this just blows my mind, a camera that takes pictures that you can focus after the fact. Whoa baby.

Saint Joe is adapting to life without his father and is very focused on work and fully operational again. Our fiscal year is over and for pretty much the rest of the summer my work load is reasonable for the first time in at least three years. What a gift this is!

And as my sub lease is up at the yoga studio I have no weekend classes right now. This is the first Friday in six months that I have been home that I have not needed to go to the studio. (Well, except for the snow storm in January).

I very much need the break to rest and restore my vital energy. And maybe even have some fun too.

And enough time to get around and check in with all of you I hope.
