In the good old days.... in blackpropaganda

..it was normal in the summer to have a period of hot weather - sometimes hitting F90 degrees. We revelled in it - and if it coincided with the two weeks of our family holiday at the seaside I got burnt shoulders and back in the first week, and pulled off the skin in the second while covered in Calomine Lotion.

Now, if the temperature hits C30 degrees (note that difference) there are government health warnings - especially for old people who presumably are too gaga not to realise it is best to keep in the shade and have a drink. Suncream is a must - with dire consequences if it is not put on.

Of course, then there are thunder storms - it gets too hot and the sky erupts - and then there are weather warnings for rain - well f..k me - fancy that!!!

Oh dear, I am getting old.

Here in Phoenix in the summer, 110F is hot, but not remarkably so (people start to comment around 120F), and 90F would be a cold front.

The weather is going screwy here too - but I had an oldoe telling me he remembers walking home from school and melting the soles of his shoes on the road! He said about thunderstorms - rob remembers seeing those waterspouts at the beach once...

But lately summer has been a bit wimpy and even the water is freezing at the beach in December!

But now we are copping the coldest winter in a while.

I'm 35 so I'm guessing younger than you and I nearly wrote this exact entry almost word for word!
