June was a blur. I'm so glad it's over from a stress/anxiety standpoint, but it was also really awesome so I'm glad it happened.
Our trip to Minnesota was actually quite nice [for the most part]. The plane rides to and fro were pretty uneventful considering we had a high energy toddler along for the ride. He slept for an hour on the flight to MSP and slept for 2.5 hours on the flight back to LAX. Awesomeness.
Other highlights of the trip - a visit to the Minnesota Children's Museum which is completely awesome. They just so happened to also be featuring a Thomas the Trian exhibit during our visit, which was perfect for our train-obsessed dude. We visited the Mall of America and checked out the Lego play area, which he loved as well. We had a pool day at my sister-in-laws where a few of our friends came with their little person broods in-tow and we got this amazing pic of the growing clan:
And we were missing a few in this pic!
Aaron and I had a few 'adult nights' where his mom took Joaquin so we could go out to dinner with friends/family and /or sleep in later the next day. The biggest problem with our trip was Joaquin's inability to sleep more than 8-9 hours a night; he usually sleeps 10-11, so there was an ongoing sleep deprivation thing happening with all of us. So those 'adult' nights were pretty awesome.
Anyway, it was a generally great trip and we had some really good times.
We got back last Sunday and went right back into our routine; so excited to have our house, beds and schedule back in order.
We've been kicking butt at work and landed several new projects and are on the verge of landing a few more cool projects and a few new clients! It's very exciting.
Finally, in updates related to half-marathon training, Aaron and I completed our 12-mile training run yesterday, so all my 'long' runs are now complete as we anticipate race day (August 2nd), which, as a reminder, will be taking place back in Minnesota when our tribe heads back later this month…. Ahhhh!! The training run was fine .. my 'comfortable' pace is slower than I'd like it to be, but I finished the run relatively pain-free without any major IT band flare-ups, so I'm happy about that. And! I have a 90-minute massage/acupuncture session tonight to work out all the post-run kinks. Oh yes.
Anyway, I'm trying to get caught back up on all of youse… hope everyone is well.

I think we might have been in MN at the same time but I only got as far north as Duluth and then spent the majority of time in I. Falls, MN.
Love the pic of all the kids.
