Yesterday – a Saturday.

We were out yesterday, firstly at Ziggy’s obedience class, and then Lola’s obedience class at a deference location, the plan was I would take Ziggy, then Sweetheart would take Lola to hers; and our Daughter going to both classes as she can run on grass while giving instructions! Sweetheart and I can give instructions, but running is a brief activity on any serves, much the same can be said about instructions at a brisk walk; it has been said there is little between my walk and running – I disagree my running makes me look very untidy!

Plan one crumbled when a builders truck backed up the drive, most of the time we’ve been here the builders have been here now and then, it really started when we noticed foam and soapy water on the lower lawn, finding just where the waist water pipes go seems something of a black art! The builders spend a lot of time looking at a small screen linked to a very small tethered camera, and mutters ‘it’s dark down there’

From our point of view the waist pluming is fixed, as we don’t get foam or soapy water on the lawn, but there is water gathering some where below; thankfully the three forth’s high cellar is dry. All along I had told the builders to ‘please tell us when you’re coming’ but I think I don’t have the right Cornish inflections when I tell them ‘let us know before you come’

Plan two was for all of us to go together, one obedience class after the other, at least the second location has facilities; and very welcome! Lola’s class sounds fun! It seems Lola is doing well at both classes, at the start of the class the trainer said ‘Go on Lola – show them how its dun’ Of course it is our Daughter who should have the plaudits, it is her who as dun all the running, listening to trainers, training Zuggy and Lola at home and reading numerous books about dog behaviour.

Yesterday’s weather was rather soft, dull with fine rain, Perranporth was quiet for the time of year, this is the last week before the schools close for summer, a time of couples young and enchant! The Co-op car park have enough spaces that we needed choose a space, inside the Co-op was deferent, enough holiday makers shopping in a holiday manner, time enough to read labels on jars packs and boxes; mostly dun in the middle of the isle!

Last night we sat down to watch ‘Coast Australia’ we were show glowing visa after beautiful visa, lush waves rolling up perfect beaches always under clear blue skies enough to make us think of holidays or emigrating! Then we watch comedian John Bishop’s cycle tour of Australia, a repeat of a ride through Australia in his twenties, that trip was all bout the ride and he only saw roads, this trip is twenty years on and he is seeing rather more of Oz this time; a BBC film crew were getting in the way this time!

‘John Bishop's Australia’ displays Australi as a paradise, and John catching up with a few Australians he meet last time. In the Blue Mountains he visits a business that makes ante-venom from snakes and spiders, some of the most dangerous in the world, one large spider [by British standards] has a venom that attacks the brain and also make the victims blood coagulate, very few here are that pleased to see a spider in their homes; and none of our spiders are dangerous!

I wonder why the snakes and spiders of Australia go so far over the top, isn’t killing once enough, I don’t think they would stop me going to Australia for a holiday; but I would probably return home with a stained neck from keeping watch. John Bishop seemed quite happy milking the venom from said spider, a clear innocent looking potion gathered with a not longenogh glass tube; of course we don’t see Australians leaving their Island Continent in groves to a smaller cooler island with mostly harmless creatures – just avoid Ukip!

Sunday thus far ……

The vacuum cleaner was off and the lead rolled up, the last chair pushed under the table, and the Mini was just turning below, nicely time with every thing back in place; and just a little shine left on my forehead …..
