I'm multi tasking. Playing a game on facebook and watching a brilliant UK drama on the telly. It's a Vera Stanhope mystery. I saw the actress who plays her on Graham Norton and she has certainly been frumped up to play Vera.
My laptop died completely and work have loaned me one. It's easy to read diary's on a tablet but when I look back at some of the notes I have left I cringe at the typos. Dang the small keyboard and my failing eyesight.
Life is relatively drama free (hence the lack of writing). Richard is in fade out mode and it doesn't really bother me. He will either come back or he may have met the "one". Seriously after seeing both my flatmate and a workmate fall head over heels for a woman in a very short time (after years of singleness), nothing surprises me now. Keith is currently on holiday with his wife and 18 year old son in the UK (I only know because she regularly tweets happy family photos from tourist spots). It's not the act of someone who can't stand her husband, so I am thinking someone cough Keith has been telling a few porkies. I keep waiting to feel heartbroken about either of these men, but it just hasn't happened. Thank goodness.
It's only a couple of months until I go on holiday. I am travelling to New York with two friends - although one has had some health issues, so it may just be two of us. Last time I was in New York was 2000, so I'm very excited. Y'all know how much I love the States anyway. I have a list a mile long of Clinique stuff I want to purchase (it is about 3 times more expensive here). We already have tickets to a Yankee game and a walking tour of central park. All sightseeing plans (that we need to prebook) are on hold until we find out if Gini will be well enough to travel. Other friend (Susan) is a total planner like me, so we should travel well. She has never been to NYC. I don't see much of either of these friends, as they both live in other cities, but we travel well together. Susan really wants to visit the 911 museum, I'm not so sure. I saw a piece on it when it opened in May and just hearing those voicemails that people left for loved ones had me sobbing. I would like to visit the memorial though, so hopefully we can compromise.
I read that the key to a clutter free life is one thing in, one thing out. On that basis I sure have a lot of shit to get rid of before I hit the clearance racks and outlet malls. I have been saving like a mad woman and have even managed to sell some clothes on line.
Oh well, back to my murder mystery - I don't have a clue who dunnit.
