Not that I watched last night, nor am I a fan of the supposed beautiful game, I leave watching millionaires in shorts to others; but I felt for the Brazilian fans last night. To lose a match is one thing, to lose by such a margin in such a match is hard to take, after last night I expect there will be more to say today; but there in the rain the Brazilian fans walked away holding their shock – grief even.
I know a few fans, my brother-in-law is one, but not one to sound off after an unwanted conclusion, others I’ve known can be very vocal. At the start of this World Cup we held hopes for England – yes even me as long I don’t have to watch, but most level headed fans were not surprised, at least for those of my age; well we have our memories!
So I will wish Germany on when the final comes, be it a Europe vie South America match, or an all European event, I suppose the latter for me would be a win-win match; not watched of course! While living in Manchester I did experience the atmosphere of the fans going and retuning, such crowds have a life you can’t miss; a situation where I pass by agreeing with the comments; come on who ………!

The thoroughness of the pounding Brazil took was surprising. I do feel for their fans, and I hope they win the next match.

I didn't watch any of it either...I am not a sports fan. And unlike you I don't have a great deal of sympathy for the upset fans....I think there was too much arrogance and taking everything for granted, also from the bits I saw on the news they are great drama-queens when injured, even slightly. And lets not forget....it is only a game after all. (also - don't get me started on the thousands of Brazilians whose homes were destroyed to make way for the cup arena....those are the ones I felt sorry for.) hugs p
