THE POLITICS AT THE ISOLATED CASTLE in THE REALITY SOAP: AFTER DAD'S FUNERAL

How long has it been, since she last dealt closely with reality there? The Ex-Guardian of The Isolated Castle can hardly remember. Self-exile is a good thing sometimes. One needs a long break from the endless drama. Even the bravest fear. Even the strongest get tired.

However, the politics at the isolated castle remains the same. How unfortunate. It doesn't help that some people - even the poor, innocent and helpless souls - have to pay the price.

Silence isn't always golden, yet some people - sadly, influential ones - just don't want it broken. They'd rather pretend that everything is still okay. It's just the whole society, isn't it? The picture-perfect poster of hypocrisy. They're more worried about what the world might say or think about them - than the safety of a child or two. They cover up their uneasiness under the same, damn empty lines:

Sssh, no need to discuss any of that here. It's none of our business. Let them deal with that their way.

Sure. The Ex-Guardian of The Isolated Castle sneered as she rolled her eyes. Yet you still talk about it with me, but then expect me to just shut up, listen, and accept reality as it is without doing a thing. As if she'd just go along with it, completely unaffected.

She stared at The Mighty Queen in disbelief. Deep down inside, she wanted to scream with agonizing rage and frustration:

Aren't you worried, Your Majesty? Aren't you scared? Because I am. We're talking about the lives of your grandchildren here. Don't you care that they're hurt and terrorized by two people who are supposed to make them feel loved, safe, and unafraid in the first place?

Perhaps she was tired, The Ex-Guardian of The Isolated Castle thought sadly. The Sweet Prince also looked unwell that night. Were they stressed and afraid? Why...oh, why won't anybody protect those innocent souls? They're not some trophies to be paraded around - or some living properties for a 'show-and-tell'.

Still, bloodline doesn't always count. She's just an ex-guardian, not a real princess. Never was, is, and will be. She doesn't live there for long anymore, simply just passing by for a night or two. She's become a familiar stranger, yet a warm presence the little ones miss. She only turns up when needed. Nobody's interested in her opinions. Worst of all, they might possibly accuse her of being 'overly-imaginative' and rather paranoid. Who would ever believe her or even take her seriously? Them? Well, not by a long shot. That's nothing new.

No wonder the little ones hugged her so tightly that night. Out of silent, chilling fear and sadness, The Ex-Guardian of The Isolated Castle could only whisper in their small ears:

"I love you...and I will never hurt you."

And now The Ex-Guardian of The Isolated Castle is silently wondering, whether she will keep returning home...to more bad news...
