I feel sorry for all the people who had their parties on Friday. The weather yesterday was RIDICULOUSLY NICE. Kind of pissed me off how I woke up with a headache. How does one wake up with a headache? Sleep is supposed to cure them! I took two tylenol and took a nap. Almost felt better. Made the mistake of going for a run, which made it worse. Took one advil and started to feel better.

As planned, Elissa was here by one. I told Erik I'd be at the party sometime between 1 and 3. I was there at 2. Went around back to greet his mom, as I usually do. Once I found the skimmer, I went to work as I usually do. I just find skimming their pool to be relaxing. Elissa took her time getting in the pool, as it was a little cold. She found a floaty, and then kind of clung to me the entire time. Makes me feel loved. As well, I feel loved that people (Erik, Liz, Trent) eventually migrated to the pool to make conversation. Something about people coming to me.

Oh look, a bad picture from Elissa's phone.

As usual, despite the copious time in the sun, I didn't burn. WOOOO. While in the pool, Liz insisted I finish a bottle of vanilla vodka that they decided was mine years ago. Maybe a shot, no more than a shot and a half. Felt nothing.

The party has always been kind of a potluck, but more now in recent years with the decline in attendance. Some years, there were a hundred people wandering around and you're just thinking, "Who the fuck are they?" I pretty much recognized everyone I saw, even if I didn't know their names.

I digress. Potluck. We returned to the fooding area to see how much of my sausage was left. I was terrified no one would eat it. It was GONE. Can't tell you how happy this made me. I'll be sure to bring more next year, and perfect how I make it. Erik made some chicken thing. It tasted indian-inspired, supposedly it was vietnamese-inspired. Whatever it was, it was fucking tasty as hell, and fucking SPICY AS HELL. Taking erik's meat into my mouth was like buttsex. It felt so good, but it hurt so much.

While we were eating, Erik's dad wandered by and said, "If you guys want to party-hardy, there's an air mattress in the guest room." I blinked, and pointed out to Elissa that we just got told to go fuck. While we're not on fucking terms, it makes me happy when we get shipped. Far better than the kind of blind judgement Candi had.

As I said, less people than in some of the year's past. You could break the social groups into Erik's friends, Jesse's friends, the cousins and their friends, the parent's friends/relatives, and the older relatives. That's about it.

I think we wandered inside after that. After much debate, I did a shot of 99 bananas. Tasted kinda nice for 99 proof. After a second shot, I got a buzz, and held there for a while. I want to say I only had.. five shots total? The vodka, two or three of the bananas, and the mystery shot Jesse handed me at some point. All spaced out, mind you. I wanted a comfortable buzz, not to get shit-faced.

I got demanded to bring out Cards Against Humanity. Which made me nervous because there were 12 people in the room, most of whom I didn't know. It's my game and people were drinking, man! I'm bad at organizing, so I let other people play DungeonMaster. We broke into four teams of three. The game didn't last that long, as people were ridiculously distracted. All it took was a wave of different people to come in, and BAM, nobody's paying attention. Figured it would happen. I need to fill out some of the blank cards eventually. And maybe shuffle next time, ha ha.

Was it after that we migrated outside? I desired a hot dog, so I had one. There was a new wicker couch under the canopy. So naturally Elissa sat on me. Converses couch space! I think that's when we were introduced to ... goddamn it, I don't know how to spell her name. I remembered it as Risa, as in the star trek reference, but she said it was spelled with a y in there somewhere. Rysa? Rhysa? I DON'T KNOW. She's dating ... Steve, who I want to say was the guy last year who was doing the Captain America thing. Tiny, quiet, nice guy. Anyway, she's adorable, and I got the sense Elissa made a friend. Ha ha, I don't make friends. : P

Something something, I finished off Erik's plate of meat. Because food and nom and yum. Elissa had a sausage at some point (not my sausage that I brought uh).

Somewhere in there, we kept having a discussion about boobs. I kept insisting that I'm almost an A-cup. Which caused Erik and Trent to practically have a boob-off with me.

Previously, Liz said she'd be happy to do a painting of Elissa doing me in the butt with a strap-on? I said to her, "I'm sitting in my apartment in my underwear and you freak out, but you'd be happy to paint buttsex?" And she says, "But that's art!"

Elissa got her period this morning, so I periodically followed her to the upstairs bathroom (and sat outside duh).

We migrated to the woods at some point and smoked a bowl. Erik took a few hits and then wandered off. I wasn't even sure if it did anything until later. Elissa was CLEARLY a little high, and it was adorable.

We were getting sleepy and were cuddling on a couch upstairs. I suggested we wander around and see where people were. Turns out people we knew were downstairs playing with the Playstation Dildo. After they finished a frisbee game, we played bocce ball, swordplay, and table tennis. Bocce ball was ridiculously hard, and everything else I just kind of Wii-flailed. Wii. Hrm. This browser underlines things it thinks are spelled wrong. It knows the word Wii. It doesn't know Bocce. What the hell.

It was closer to midnight by that point. I contemplated passing out on the couch upstairs, but figured it was just as easy to come back here, get quality sleep, and go back today for "the afterparty". Elissa's still sleeping.

This marked the first year since I've been attending, every year since 2002 (hush about 2004), that there weren't fireworks. Turns out the neighbor next door moved. I have fond memories of helping to carry this giant plywood of explosives from his house to the back yard. It was a good party. I had Elissa, so I felt zero anxiety in terms of feeling a need to socialize. Really hope Erik and Liz are good on their word that they'll be there tomorrow. I want more hang-out time. I hope I wrote an entry for last year, because I really can't remember anything. That's the only reason I'm writing this out. To help remember.

I should get an event for my birthday posted on facebook.
