The sausage and three bean soup was delicious but my god the heartburn. Tomatoes effing kill me sometimes and there was a whole can in it, seasoned with basil, garlic and onion. I like garlic but it gives me wicked heartburn, as well. Luckily I have Tagamut antacid pills and I’m slurping down ice water like it’s the Sahara in here.
I gave up on the last James Bond book. Only got three or four chapters into it. I’ll get around to it. Just started The Amazing Maurice And His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett. It’s about a cat and some rats getting hit with magic so now they can think and speak. The cat finds a kid who plays a penny whistle so the cat devises a Pied Piper scam to make money. I love Prachett’s work. Definitely my favorite writer, next to Philip K. Dick and Ray Bradbury.
Recommendations:
Bradbury - Something Wicked This Way Comes, Dandelion Wine, Green Shadow White Whale (semi autobiographical about his time in Ireland in the 50’s where he was writing the script for John Huston’s Moby Dick that starred Gregory Peck.
Dick - VALIS (blew my mind the first time I read), Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep (I like it better than the film that’s based off it Blade Runner however Rutger Hauer’s Tears In The Rain monologue is iconic), A Maze Of Death and Time Out Of Joint
Pratchett - Soul Music, Reaper Man, Good Omens (co-written by Neil Gaiman), The Wee Free Men, Wyrd Sisters, Guards! Guards!
Hm, I’m thinking another bowl of that soup is in order. 🍲🤒🏜🔥
