Blah in The Past

I’m supposed to be using this morning to write on my NaNoWriMo, but I don’t feel much like writing today. I don’t know what it is, but maybe I’m finally getting into the mood to do maile, which is very important and which I’m glad about. I have a new package of rings coming in today (double check to make sure that it’ll be here by today!) and a huge list of things that I have to start making. Starting with Large Flowers. I’ve already started with the flowers last night, and I also have Norma (dragon #2, black with orange scales) about half way done… she just needs her tail and wings. Which is really good. I actually did her differently than I did Norman and didn’t realize it. Her belly rings go down instead of up. Which means she sits better and easier, but her head’s a little floppy and was hard to put on. I’ll just have to add a couple of rings to her neck and it’ll fix the head problem. I finished prepping the orange scales for flowers last night, and started on the pinks. I just have black, blue, green, red, gold, purple, silver. Yeaaaah, just a few left. And after I do the prepping, I have to start adding the other 15 rings to hold them stable and then glue them to the backs. That’s what I’m going to be doing for most of the next week. Plus I have to get other things done. There’s actually like, 15 things on my “to do” list, including prepping and making more hair sticks. Which shouldn’t take long, since I don’t put any flowers on them, just prep the sticks and the like.

Y’know, it just occurred to me that I might want to actually go and show off pictures of these things. Granted, my picture taking skills really suck, but I should take a couple. Specially since it’s almost holiday season and I need new pictures for my site and the like.

Which also reminds me, I need a good camera and lessons on how to take decent photos, or someone I can hire to take decent photos for me. >.< It’s amazing how hard it is to take photos when you’re not very visually artistic. I’m really bad at them. And even worst at posting stuff on my etsy site, but I really need to do that. Tonight or tomorrow I’m going to have to start revamping my Etsy. Just so that there’s something there when Lakefair happens and I start handing out cards again.

I should get new cards. I changed my phone number from the last one, but I’m just so “blah” about the whole thing. There’s a lot of things I should do.

Oh! Anyone here good at drawing? I don’t need anything complicated, seriously, just simple 1in x 1in line drawings. They can start out larger, but they’d be scaled down to 1in x 1in. I have this amazing plan about getting an engraver to make some engraved tags to turn into necklaces, but the person I asked to do the line drawings went really badly overboard and made something I can’t use. What I’m looking for is someone to make small, stylized pictures of iconic gaming symbols… the triforce, Mario Mushrooms, Pokeballs, The Ghosts and Pacman from Pacman, etc. etc. I got these really cool aluminum tags that are pretty much brightly colored round discs… I contacted an engraver and can get them engraved for like, 50 cents a disc, and then I can turn them into jewelry. Again, I’m just really bad at drawing and the like. -chuckles- I have all these ideas and no way of putting them together. And I’m afraid to ask on facebook because my buddy that I asked to do them for me is on facebook and I don’t want to upset him when I say that the pictures that he gave me, while totally awesome and worthwhile, won’t work for my project.

My aunt will be here in 12 days. The house is a wreck and we’re not ready at all for her. I have the 15th through the 20th off, and while I’m looking forward to her visit, on the other hand, I’m kind of not, y’know? I mean, it’ll be fun and all, but since it’s the same time as Lakefair, I’m going to miss out on all the adventures. I was asked if I could take the second week she’s here off, and I’d love to, but Marilee will be off that week and I can’t leave them without a person on reception. Plus it was part of the deal I struck to get the week of that I did… I can’t call in the next week, no matter how much I want to.
