Tell your story about your first best friend as a child. How did you meet them? How did you play together?

My first best friend was someone I will call L for privacy reasons. We met at summer camp when I was 5 and she was 7. I don’t actually remember our first meeting or much of the young years, they are encased in the black years but through conversation and a bit of my own vague recollections, I do know some of these things. I am still friends with her today although admittedly not as close. Life has not been easy on either one of us. We met when she came to summer camp, I believe we were put in the same girl’s cabin. She came with her grandparents who were wonderful people. We could always count on her grandma to say ” here take a dollar and go get yourselves an ice cream” we would then often come back and listen to her step grandpa tell us a story. As we grew older, we initially began to grow closer. We lived together for a period of time and we were homeless together for a while as well. Then we met the fathers of our children. The father of her sons did not stick around long and soon she was a single mom. If you have read my other posts you know what happened with mine. He stuck around....unfortunately. Her baby daddy’s step mother became a huge problem for her. Calling child services for everything, desperate to get custody of her kids because she had money and L was a low income single mom. Eventually she succeeded and although court ordered to provide visitation, she swiftly cut contact knowing L had no more funds to fight her. During this time period someone ( likely the BD step mom) called child services on her and because we had just visited and I had disagreed with how under-dressed her kids were for the temperature, she thought I or my husband at the time, must have called. It took years to convince her it wasn’t me or him, but our relationship was never the same. We are still friends but now she lives in a different part of the country and we really only interact on Facebook or the very rare visit.

Describe a physical feature of yours that you really like.

This one will be short. I don’t. I don’t have a feature that I like. There is nothing enjoyable or redeeming about my looks.
