Bizzare Observations in Current Events

I’m not too keen on polarizing with strangers on the internet when it comes to my philosophies. It doesn’t go anywhere because we’re all just serving our egos. It’s easy to commit to our own narcissism when you get to hide behind a screen. It’s only worth it when there is an audience because you will never sway the person you are polarizing with but you might sway someone else who is paying attention. I only returned to social media after my two-year hiatus so that I could have some nuanced dialogue about politics. That was naive of me. I just say what I have to say in a post or comment section and ignore the responses. We all have a response-ability to be intelligent. We either have discernment skills or we don’t. It’s not innate, we have to develop it. We know what makes a fact a fact, right? Nope. It’s a fact when the news says it. It’s a fact when a scientist says it. Attacks and tantrums are not a legitimate form of debate but that’s all some people have to make them feel less insecure. Like they’ve won some argument.

As I read what people have to say in response to what I have said I noticed a bizarre common theme. The people who call me morally bankrupt and want my existence eradicated because of this, that and the other thing in the name of their false god, are “openly” anti-Semitic and support Hitler. I use quotations when I say they are open because they never show their faces but their content is public.

Another bizarre thing is that people will make a lot of assumptions about my character and/or my life and then attack that instead of my arguments. Shocking not shocking but they go in. It’s like watching someone try to argue with themself. Like, who are you talking to? They create a character for their made-up hero story on the fly and then attack it. My impulse is to retaliate but I don’t. That’s not a good use of my energy at all. They’ve created an enemy construct in their minds, they put all their bad eggs in that basket and now anyone with differences is the antichrist, not figuratively speaking.

I know I can be asking for it, in a way. I am blunt because I am talking to adults. Even though they respond like children. I’m conscious about whom I respond to also. The internet doesn’t need a 37-year-old man reading a 21-year-old child for filth. I have it in me to “go in” also but it takes a lot of energy. Do I want to be flustered? Heated? They’re all strangers on the internet who cares.

Another thing I noticed is that these people earnestly believe that they are the authority on what is natural. On what is righteous. They believe that they have dominion over me. Everyone needs to be re-made in their image. I believe that this is the mindset that the left calls “colonizer.” To make it more disturbing they believe they have a direct relationship with a god who gives them that authority and superiority. It’s not just demented, it’s mental illness. They’ve lost their own humanity, they dehumanize those with differences. My family has already experienced what this mindset does. This is the mindset that acts of evil come from.

I am also beyond politics at this point. I went straight to the bottom of the rabbit hole. When you question a person’s dogmatic beliefs it feels like an attack on them. They all respond like “leftists.” This is why I know that conservatives are no different than Liberals. Fake science is to conservatives what fake news is to Liberals. The self-right are factivists. They don’t look at where those facts come from. They cannot see that their precious counter-narratives are also controlled. Just another observation.

These dogmatic beliefs cannot be changed externally. The individual has to go through that journey on their own which the majority of them never will. Wetiko, it is called. The psycho-virus that infects the minds of the masses makes them act against their own best interests. It’s hard to witness. It was not a comfortable journey to accept that everything I believed was a lie. I was participating cults, in a religion of $cience. I was shown cartoons of what I was to believe as an adult. Those became my fundamental beliefs and those cartoons just get more sophisticated as I age. I defended them against cooky conspiracy theorists just like everybody else.

We just spent the last few years playing Simon says but $cience says. That’s how cognitively evolved we are as a society.

Anyway, just some zoomed-out observations.
