I finally finished “Masterpieces of World Philosophy in Summary Form” by Harper Collins, 1964. 1163 pages. I bought the tome at the library here for fifty cents either the first trip out here in 2014 or the second trip in 2015. It was nice because the sections were short, easily read one at a time during morning coffee.
The water heater is functioning fine. Last check the temperature was 133.4f degrees. So, call it perfect. The slight smell and cloudiness has dissipated. I won’t be drinking or cooking with it. A really hot shower and doing dishes in hot water really did feel decadent. I’m not going to be turning it off and on. I’ll just leave it on until May first or until the cold water tap turns warm almost hot again, then I’ll turn it off for six months or so.
I have no books in the “to read” pile. No books with bookmarks in them. I have lists of books and authors. I have some books in my cart at thriftbooks.com but those are all re-reads. As soon as the total passes $25 for the free shipping I’ll order them.
Question: If you had $5000, $10,000 or more, what would you invest it in? I’m out of ideas. Liquid and inflation proof together seem impossible.
Anyway, off on a quest to find something to read.
