I'm getting ready (last minute, of course - is there any other way?) to head out in the morning with my mom and Cbaby. We're going to spend a couple of nights in Houston. It was going to just be Cbaby and me at first, but my mom started talking about maybe wanting to go, and the next thing you know, she's packing to head out, too. :) It's been a while since I've traveled with just Mama (without Daddy). I think she needs the break. Cbaby is excited that she's going. We'll have fun. She talked about just staying back at the hotel to rest while we go play, but not an option. I bought citypass tickets for the 3 of us. We have admission to NASA, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Aquarium, the Boardwalk, and then a choice between a children's museum or an art museum. (I'm thinking we're going to do the art one. ) We won't hit them all, but I hope to spend some time at most of them. Cbaby is going to be pooped by the time this is all over. She's been home 2 or 3 days total in the past 2 1/2 weeks.
She and Tootie just got back from Fort Worth. They had fun, but they didn't listen to me and burned like little lobsters at 6 Flags. Cbaby wasn't too bad. She had a tshirt on, so it's just the collar area. Tootie, on the other hand, had on a 2 piece and a racer back tank top. Her's is pretty bad. She didn't want the aloe I tried to send with them, she said they would be fine, well, she had to get up and go to the store to buy some. (I didn't say, "I told you so." She was hurting too bad.) They missed a 2nd day at the Stockyards and the rodeo, but luckily they only had one day left on their trip. It gave her a day to stay in the cool with Cbaby keeping her gooed up with the aloe gel. They had a 6 1/2 or so hour drive to get back. Tootie was hurting by the time they got home. She's better today. More pink than red. She's got work in the morning. That should be interesting. She has no time that she can take off, so she'll be there, but hurting.
I have already packed the sunscreen, the aloe gel, and the zinc oxide. Better safe than sorry. I told Tootie that we pale-skinned people just couldn't hang with the sun worshipers out there. I have a feeling when this all heals she'll have earned her shoulder freckles just like my dad and me. (That Irish blood flows strong in the pale skins/red heads). Ok, I've played enough. I have to finish packing. I don't know that I'll get to check in while we're gone, but I'll catch up when I get back. Have a great week!
