I feel close in Journal

Everything feels very close… My cat who almost never sits on me came around and sat on me today. My son has been extra super cuddly. I feel like I’m in the time in between. You know, the time when you’re still pregnant, but things can happen at any given moment.
I still need to clean the car and get the bucket seat installed. And go grab a big bag of ice for the midwife team. Other than that, everything is set and ready for the home birth. I think I’d like to have a bit more prepped food on hand, too. I think maybe I’ll make a few lasagnas to freeze, tomorrow.
Baby dropped last week and it’s been so nice to be able to take FULL breaths again. Also the nightly acid reflux is gone. Instead I just have some really incredible downward pressure! And tmi maybe but a lot of goo, and the feeling that my pelvis bones are coming apart. It’s pretty amazing to think that it’s the baby who actually initiates labor and signals when they’re ready to come out. I’m just here carrying out orders, lol.
Oh I just finished a really cute sweater and hat too. 100% wool again, so soft. I might try to upload a pic.

Halloween was really fun even though we didn’t do much except carve pumpkins, sit out on the porch and hand out candy. Our son is so gregarious and cute, everyone loves him. He didn’t even want to try the candy, just hand it out.
I ordered all his Xmas presents already and also a special gift for him from the baby. I’m a bit torn about when to give it to him- but I think maybe after birth so he can understand who it’s from a bit better.

DH just installed our new tankless water heater. I’m in love, hahaha. I took a loooong hot shower - really the first since moving here because the old water heater sucked. I had to choose between washing my hair or anything else bc the water went from warm to cold in minutes. Apparently the tankless heater literally has no bottom. It will heat on-demand for as long as the water runs. And up to 4 showers simultaneously -! I’m just glad it’s in before we need it to fill the birth pool.

It’s really a surreal mood that I’m feeling currently. I’d like to describe it more but I’m almost at a loss for words, and it’s already late. I will probably journal about it tomorrow, and who knows if it will make it to this platform. The personal/important stuff rarely does.
