Happy Thanksgiving Canada in Help Me Please

I am not much of a historian but this is the history of thanksgiving in Canada…

The think I don’t understand is why do we need a day to be thankful when we can be thankful everyday and why can’t we have turkey more often rather then just two or three times a year?
I think the real meaning of these days have long been gone and we don’t even remember the history and all we want is the food and the gifts and that is not right. And the older we get the less we want to go through all of this and eventually the history will be gone and there will be no more family to share all of this with. I think we have all lost the true meaning of most things and we just don’t care anymore. All these days are is another day where we don’t have to go to work and we get to sleep in more.
What ever happened to the days where we were lucky to get an apple to eat or a sandwich and we were just as thankful that day then we are now.
Why can’t we look at the bigger picture and be thankful for that?

My son is suppose to come today for breakfast and dinner but there is suppose to be a severe weather starting this afternoon and the power might go out so I am not sure what we will do. But something will get figured out.
