Not Cancer!!! in Still Listening to Spirit

Okay, so this will be short for now to get the word out.

The CT scan showed that whatever is in Bill's lungs is not cancer, doesn't resemble cancer in any way, shape, or form.

So what is it?

They explored that with some tests and discussions with 'experts' and came up with TB. So they got a really good sputum sample (gross and the respiratory doctor delighted in showing it to me like a 4th grader shoving a big booger in front of a girl's face). The respiratory doctor got his training in Atlanta and worked in a small hospital in the next suburb over from Forest Park where I lived all the time I was there.

Anyway, so they put some 'stuff' under his skin on the inside of his forearm. In 48 hours, it would determine to be positive or negative depending on how the skin reacted.

We checked it when we were almost back to Our Town on the ferry and all I saw was a blue bruise. Didn't look like what I was told it would look like.

Boy we were hoping for TB, curable with antibiotics in 8 weeks or so.

I called Lynn and left a message for her. She called me back when we were coming into the garage after Carol picked us up at the ferry. She came over at 4:30 rather than have us come into the clinic--less contact, less impact--everyone there had to have the TB test since Bill was there twice.

She came by. Not TB either. So we will wait on the other cultures the hospital in Juneau is doing to see what it is.....

A mystery. Bill is better, stronger, more on the trip, his sister and so on when I have more time and energy.
