Stupid Ian in 2022

It’s been thirty years since I lived through Hurricane Andrew and I can still recall exactly what it felt like to be in that house in Miami as all the windows blew out. Which is probably why I am driving myself crazy with anxiety - my sister is in Port Charlotte, basically the eye of the storm went right over her. She lost power around 5pm and we haven’t heard from her since just before 7pm. I’m pretty certain the cell towers are down, her apartment is in a new building with concrete construction so it should be just about as safe as can be.
I just hate not knowing.

Its horrible. I've been glued to CNN. You can join a Port Charlotte FB group. I've been in a number of Marco Island/Naples groups and people are posting updates. I just cancelled our flights for Nov 1st. The airbnb we're supposed to stay at is devastated. We were going to look at houses, we won't be moving there anytime soon. Forget about us even trying to rent a house. Rentals will be $$$$ and few and far between. I hope your sis is ok.
