Miranda called me today, sick as a dog with the upper respiratory crap that is going around. She was so confused, she could barely make out what day it was and asked me if I thought she should go to the Clinic.
I reminded her that it was Sunday and would cost $300 just to walk in the door. I suggested if she waited until Monday she could see the on call provider at regular prices.
So, I told her not to worry about the dogs, I would find someone else. I called Brandie who was crying hysterically. She and her husband are heading toward a divorce and she is heading to Oregon with the 2 children to live with her mother and start over. I am so sorry for this, but it would be absolutely best for Brandie and her children as he is never home, either working or out with friends--lately a friend who is a girl.... nuff said.
Brandie not in a good space to remember our dogs, so I called Carol Nelson, my old boss at Skag Air and has been providing me books after she buys and reads them for years and years. She would be happy to do so, even mentioned taking them out to her acreage where she has a large fenced area. I told her whatever worked for her was fine with me.
Carol will come over at 10am tomorrow to get acquainted with the dogs, get the wheelchair from the clinic and drive us to the ferry terminal. Bill says he needs to drive so our vehicle will be there when we return. We will work that out tomorrow.
I have begun putting things in a small bag up here that I don't want to forget--kindle and power cord, telephone power cord, magazines Wendy gave me, like that. I know I will forget something but am not stressing over anyting. I will do the best I can.
We have had another day of rest. I have napped, woken up at 8:27 wondering if it was am or pm--am--I ha only had an hour and a half rest. All IS well, we are getting along and by.
Blessed be!

You know our prayers are with you today. Just take it one step at a time, and know we all care. (And what about the cats?) Will she take care of them too? I was wondering. I'll check back later.

yes, carol is going to take care of the cats and clean their litter box. A true and faithful friend shows her true nature as a GREAT friend when she will clean your litter box!

I know Mr. Finch desperately hung onto some semblance of normalcy and driving was the absolutely most difficult thing to get him to stop doing. I told him, it was so difficult, that I would not under any circumstances get in the car with him. I told him he can put his life at risk, (and those he encountered on the road) but not mine. That helped. Everything at this point is about conservation of energy so he can do what he wants to that he enjoys. But he doesn't know that yet. So glad you have Carol.

I started at the wrong end of my booksmarks, so I'm a bit lost but gather you and B. are going to get some help and the wheelchair will be quite useful on the way. I'm glad the dog care was easily settled and trust you aren't forgetting anything that matters. You are divinely guided and protected in all ways!

You are both close in my thoughts.
