  1. Thank you all for your good (and otherwise) advice. I compiled it for my writer’s group and it was popular. The ‘don’t gain more than 5 lbs after marriage’ got a laugh.

  2. I have leftover beef stew and sweet corn that Jim got from his banker - there might be more to that story - for lunch.

  3. Today is the monthly used book sale at the library. I plan to go and I plan to come back here and tell you what I found.

Bonus - I watched two movies on Youtube last night. Both were fairly recent ‘small’ movies, shot on location. Both were small movies that looked like acts of love. Both were well done.

  1. ‘Grace is Gone’ was made in 2007 with John Kusack as the father of two daughters whose wife/mother is killed in Iraq. Set and filmed to some degree in Minnesota and featuring a road trip to Florida, it’s just a nice movie.

  2. “Georgia Rule’, also made in 2007, this time in Idaho, has three generations of troubled women, Jane Fonda, Felicity Hoffman and Lindsey Lohan. I’d never seen Lohan or Hoffman before. Hoffman cut her hair mid-movie and then wore an unflattering wig. Lohan was pretty much all about sex, but she did it well. There was a Mormon boyfriend. At one point Jane wears a bucket hat and for a second look just like Henry on Golden Pond.
